Train a Child Initiative

Train a child initiative (Girl Child Education is the single best investment any society can make “Carol Bellamy”)   Congratulations to Justina and Martina as they resumed school as boarding students at Federal Science College, Ogoja (my Alma mater) on a full scholarship and sponsorship from David Owan Care Foundation. Our Program Coordinator, Evans. Ken Akpa was on the ground to facilitate their resumption on behalf of the Foundation. Thank you for your selfless service.   These two students were the outstanding students from Ugboro Community Secondary School during our May 2024, school fees support in Bekwarra LGA.   We agreed to sponsor them through out their academic activities and this is just the beginning. We’re proud of them and I am convinced, they will progress and project our society in a positive direction. Go and make us proud, you have our support all the way, God bless and protect you.

Bridging the Educational Gap

Education is essential for the growth and development of any nation, as well as a powerful force that can change lives, uplift communities and change the world. Nigeria has one of the lowest literary rates in the world despite being the most populous nation in Africa, with only 59% of the adult population being able to read and write. This is a result of challenges such as poor funding, non-implementation of policies, corruption and the widening gap between the urban and rural areas, etc. David Owan Care Foundation is passionate about bridging this gap at the foundational level, and as such embarked on a pilot education project through its Train a Child initiative and provided support through scholarships to 300 secondary education students in Cross River State, this is just part of its planned out programs to strengthen this sector, we will continue to do more towards making measurable progress and impact in achieving the set-out target for SDG(4) Quality Education in the year 2030.
