Owan David Ahakiri holds a BSc degree from the University of Calabar and MSc in Environmental Engineering from the prestigious Cranfield University, United Kingdom (UK), England.

 

Mr. Owan is a stakeholder in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry with over 13yrs of experience cutting across Environmental Protection, Regulation, Industrial Relations/Harmony, Waste Management, Host Community Development, Toxicology, Accident and Special Investigations. He’s a member of The Certified International Waste Management (CIWM) and member Nigeria Environmental Society (NES).

 

He is a Labor leader and currently the National Treasurer of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).

 

Driven by a strong passion  in community development and empowerment, his expertise in environmental protection and sustainability and Host Community Development in the oil and Gas industry endeared him into Economic development and empowerment. 

In  November 2023, He founded the David Owan Care foundation as a pathway and platform  to empowering people and developing communities, towards the upliftment and better of the common man and marginalized communities.

 

The foundation operates in alignment with the sustainable development goals and is Intentional in bridging the development gaps in Nigeria and beyond, with  pilot projects in his state of origin (Cross River State) in the areas of Health, Education, Economic empowerment programmes etc.

 

His foundation has impacted a remarkable number of individuals and communities.
